ALL SCHOOL NEWS

SUMMER SCHEDULE FOR THE RED & WHITE
The Red & White will be published once a month in June and July. Look for it in your inbox again on July 19. The due date for submission for the July issue remains the preceding Tuesday at noon. The normal weekly schedule resumes on August 2 with a fresh look.

SUMMER OFFICE HOURS AND VISITOR CHECK-IN
We would advise anyone visiting campus during the summer months to either email or call ahead of time to ensure the person you need will be available. All visitors should check in at the Boys Division Main Office to obtain a visitor's badge before moving about the campus. To steward resources and streamline security procedures, visitor check-in will NOT be available at the Girls Division during the summer.

AUTOMATIC OPT-IN FOR SCHOOLMESSENGER TEXTS
Due to a change in FCC guidelines, parents and students will automatically be opted in to receive text messages from the SchoolMessenger system and do not need to take steps to opt in for those messages. We use SchoolMessenger to alert parents, students, faculty and staff via text, phone and/or voice message of unscheduled late starts or school closures due to weather, as well as for critical/emergency and attendance notifications. It is most frequently used as the primary means of communication for athletics and activities year-round. Next Monday, June 17, around 10:00 am, you will receive the following message alerting you that you have now opted in for text messages: “You’re registered 4 SchoolMessenger messages. Txt STOP to quit, HELP 4 help. Std msg/data rates may apply. Freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/tm” There is nothing you need to do with that message. If you do not receive the message, log in and check your profile on the RJ website to ensure that you have provided us with a cell phone number and that it is correct. If that is the case, please contact communications@regisjesuit.com to let us know that you did not receive the message, and we will research the issue. If you do not wish to receive text messages from the system, you can respond STOP to the message, and your number will no longer receive ANY messages sent via text from SchoolMessenger. If you unsubscribe from text messages and later change your mind, you can opt back in by texting the word YES to 67587. Your cell phone number must be in our database in order for the opt-in to take effect. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Charisse Broderick King at communications@regisjesuit.com.

SCHOOL CLOSED—JULY 4 & 5
Please note that the school will be closed on Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, in observance of 4th of July. Offices will reopen on Monday, July 8.

COMING SOON—RJ LAUNCHES A NEW WEBSITE AND ONLINE COMMUNITY!
Exciting changes are coming to RJ for the 2019-20 school year. Later this summer, we will launch the newly-redesigned RJ website and online community, called My RJ, boasting a new and modern look and feel. Watch for an email in the second half of July announcing the launch of the new platform that will include an overview of the improved navigation and functionality. We appreciate your patience as we iron out any kinks during the transition from our current system to the new one. Know that we will be working diligently to make the change as seamless as possible. We believe that this new platform will greatly improve our ability to serve our families.

Please join us in congratulating the listed students for a job well done!

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE IMMUNIZATION RECORD POLICY AT REGIS JESUIT
For the 2019-20 school year, all students must submit an up-to-date immunization form or exemption form to the school no later than Wednesday, July 31, 2019, by mail, fax or email to the school nurses noted below. In accordance with Colorado Immunization laws, all students attending Regis Jesuit must have the above-noted documents on file with the school prior to the start of school or risk being denied attendance. If your student is not in compliance by the first day of school on Wednesday, August 14, he/she will be denied attendance until the correct and up-to-date forms are received. For more information about this policy and/or the accepted types of exemptions, please refer to the attached 2019-20 Immunization Guide or visit the Nurse's Office page on our website. If you have additional questions, please contact Tracey Dwyre (girls) or Jacqueline Vrooman (boys).

KING SOOPERS CARD PROGRAM—IMPORTANT PROGRAM CHANGES
As summer gets fully underway, we want to remind you that King Soopers has changed their grocery card rewards program, making it even easier to earn rewards for Regis Jesuit. Our school continues to receive 5% of the proceeds from all grocery store and gas station purchases, with the rewards tied directly to your Sooper Card, meaning you will no longer need to use separate reloadable gift cards. Enrolling your loyalty card is fast and easy. Just follow these two steps:

  • Go to the King Soopers Community Rewards secure website, choose Enroll Now and either sign in with your existing King Soopers Account or create an account if you haven’t already done so.
  • Under Account Settings, click on Community Rewards, then search for Regis Jesuit High School and select it as your organization.

During the 2018-19 school year, Regis Jesuit earned $13,000 from grocery card donations! Thank you for your continued support of this program. All monies raised help to fund the programming that our Raider Parent Community Association (RPCA) provides, as well as support the priority needs of the school. So as you prepare for your next BBQ, picnic or camping trip, know that your grocery purchases are helping support our school. We appreciate you taking the time to enroll your card in the new program. If you have any questions, please email us at rpca@regisjesuit.com.

SENIOR PHOTOS FOR THE CLASS OF 2020
All seniors are required to take two different photos: one for the yearbook and one for the senior class composite. Every senior must be photographed by Bettinger Photography, either at their studio or at the school in September, for the 2020 yearbook. Click here to learn more about the photo sessions available with Bettinger Photography. Through June, Bettinger offers a free yearbook session at their studio located on South University Blvd. If your senior opts to take their photo at school in September, that is free as well. For the yearbook photos, boys should wear a suit coat, oxford shirt and a tie, and girls should be in Mass dress day attire.
At Registration Day in August, all seniors will be photographed by Lifetouch for the senior class composite photo. This will also be your student ID photo for the year. Boys should wear a suit coat, oxford shirt and a tie. Girls should be in Mass dress day attire. Please contact Bryan Timme, Assistant Principal for Student Life, with any questions.

CAFETERIA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED & EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITH FLIK
Parent volunteers provide an important service to the students by working in both cafeterias and the Steele Center café during the morning break or lunch time. Parents work the registers and serve students. This is a wonderful way to help build community, meet other parents and provide meaningful service to the school. If you would like to volunteer during the 2019-20 school year, please click on this link to indicate your volunteer preferences. Once your survey is completed, you will hear back from the parent volunteer coordinators.
Interested in working for Flik? Currently, there are both full-time and part-time positions available. If you or someone you know is interested in working for Flik, please email Cristian Pintovidal, Flik Manager.

2019-20 BUS TRANSPORTATION ENROLLMENT
We are excited to announce that the four bus lines we currently manage will continue for 2019-20 with no changes in the routes or stop locations planned at this time. To reserve your spot on one of the bus lines, you will need to complete the 2019-20 Bus Reservation form online, which will become available mid-July. Everyone is encouraged to sign up early to ensure a spot on the desired bus line. An initial payment of $80 will be required when reserving a spot on the bus. That payment will be applied toward the purchase of the bus pass. All annual or seasonal pass purchases will have the remaining balances added to their FACTS tuition payments and continue throughout the duration of the plan. Families on one- or two-pay plans will have their payments collected in full on September 20, 2019. For details about our transportation options, please visit www.regisjesuit.com/transportation.
